Pierre Boivin

Chairman of the Board
Pierre Boivin has been Chairman of the Board of Kangaroo Media since 2004, as well as an entrepreneur and business leader who plays an active part in the sports and entertainment industries.

Since 1999, he has held the office of President of the Club de hockey Canadien and of the Canadian Arena Company, the managing company of the Bell Center and Gillett Entertainment Group. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Boivin was President and Chief Executive Officer of Bauer Nike Hockey Inc., a world leader in the hockey equipment industry. Prior to this, he was President and Chief Executive Officer of Weider Sporting Goods Inc., in Los Angeles, a leader in the sporting goods industry.

From 1973 to 1979, Mr. Boivin held various positions in sales, marketing and management in the sporting goods sector. In 1979, he founded Norvinca Inc., a fast-growing company that quickly became a leading distributor of sporting goods equipment in Canada. He remained President and Chief Executive Officer as well as shareholder of the company until its acquisition by the Benetton Sports Group in 1991.

Mr. Boivin sits on the Board of Governors of the National Hockey League. He is a director of Med Eng Inc., the world leader in personal protective systems designed for police and military use, as well as civil security.

Pierre Boivin is also an active member of his community as Vice Chairman of the Sainte Justine Hospital Foundation, Director of the Canadian Special Olympics and of the Quebec Special Olympics, and as founder of the Montreal Canadians Children’s Foundation.
